The short version. Joining the waiting list costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is not a purchase and not a contract for a service — Hewn does not exist yet. What it does do is hold your place: if you are on the list when we launch, you can take the founding-member rate described below. You can leave the list at any time.

Who these terms are with

Hewn is a product of DATABURG FL LLC, a company registered in Florida, United States, at 2001 Biscayne Blvd, Apt. 2202, Miami, FL 33137-5010. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "Hewn" means the product we are building. These terms cover this website, gohewn.com, and the waiting list on it. They do not cover the Hewn app, which will have its own terms that you will be asked to agree to before you use it.

What the waiting list is

A way to tell us you want to know when Hewn launches, and to record that you asked early. That is all it is. In particular:

No money changes hands now, and we will not ask for payment details to join.
Being on the list does not create an account, and does not entitle you to use anything.
We cannot promise a launch date, and we cannot promise that Hewn will launch at all. If it does not, we will say so and delete the list.

The founding-member rate, precisely

The home page offers a founding-member price of $50 per year against a standard price of $100 per year. Setting out what that actually means:

What we commit to. If you are on the waiting list when Hewn launches, you may subscribe at $50 per year instead of the then-standard price. We will email you when that is possible and how to do it.
How long the rate lasts. For as long as your subscription runs without a break. It renews at $50 per year. If you cancel and later come back, you come back at whatever the price is then.
The $100 figure is a plan, not a former price. Hewn has never been sold at any price. $100 per year is what we currently intend to charge at launch, and we may change it before then.
What we cannot promise. Taxes, payment-processing rules and the cost of the banking services Hewn depends on are not wholly within our control. If something outside our control forces the price to change, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to cancel rather than accept it.
Monthly billing is not discounted. The signup form lets you say you would rather pay monthly. That option is the standard rate — $10 per month is $120 a year, more than the standard annual price — and the founding discount applies to the annual plan only. Telling us you prefer monthly does not forfeit the founding rate: you can still take the annual plan at $50 when we email you.
Claiming it. You will need to act on the launch email to take the rate up. We will give you a reasonable window — at least 30 days — and we will not treat a bounced email as a refusal without trying again.

Hewn is not a bank, and this is not financial advice

We are not a bank, a credit union, or a lender. We do not hold deposits, and nothing connected with Hewn is insured by the FDIC or any deposit guarantee scheme. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, credit counsellor or tax adviser, and nothing on this website is financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to take any particular action with your money. Decisions about your debts remain yours.

Descriptions of what Hewn will do are a statement of what we are building, not a guarantee of a result. Any figures shown on this site are illustrations.

Using this website

Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, submit addresses that are not yours, submit addresses automatically or in bulk, or otherwise interfere with the waiting list. We rate-limit the signup endpoint and may block requests that look automated. We may remove any entry we reasonably believe was not submitted by the person who owns the address.

The Hewn name, logo, text and design on this site belong to us. You are welcome to link to the site.

The site itself

We try to keep this page accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website or from the waiting list — including a missed launch email. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud.

Leaving the list

Email hewnfinancial@gohewn.com and we will remove you. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we have offered you — the founding-member rate in particular — we will email everyone on the list rather than rely on you re-reading this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. If you live somewhere whose consumer law gives you rights that cannot be signed away, you keep those rights and this clause does not take them from you.
